Aquatic veterinarians are experts in the clinical and diagnostic treatment, research and pathology of aquatic animals, from goldfish to dolphins to farmed seafood. If you are fascinated by the health and welfare of marine mammals, fish, sea turtles and aquatic invertebrates, this webinar is a great way for you to learn more about a career in this field.
Dr. Jessie Sanders, an all-aquatic veterinary practice owner and member of the AVMA’s Aquatic Veterinary Medicine Committee, will discuss her experience as an aquatic veterinarian and different career opportunities in the field during a live webinar with the AVMA Veterinary Career Center on Nov. 16 at noon Central Time.
Join Dr. Sanders and the AVMA Veterinary Career Center for this free, one-hour webinar. You can expect to learn about:
- The day-to-day work of an aquatic veterinarian in private practice or aquarium practice
- The role aquatic veterinarians play in the USDA’s oversite of the aquaculture industry
- Common medical cases and challenges that present in aquatic veterinary medicine
- The education, skills, and experience needed to enter this field
Veterinarians who attend the live webinar will be eligible to receive 1 hour of continuing education (CE) credit. The webinar also will be recorded for on-demand viewing, but CE credit is available only for live attendees. Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your seat soon.
