"Antidepressants can affect the feeding behaviour of fish or their survival instincts – some fish won’t acknowledge the presence of predators as much."
‘Fish are receiving this cocktail of drugs 24 hours a day, and we are now finding these drugs in their brains.’
I guess we’ve to stop eating fish brains!

I’ve surrendered myself to adopting the misnomer, The Fish Doctor. I guess a fish veterinarian is a doctor for fish… well that’s how I often have to explain, what I’d thought was already self-explanatory…
Anyway, in our newest social media platform on YouTube, we take you through the amazing ways we as veterinarians can help heal our aquatic animals from all sorts of diseases.
I also hope that it becomes apparent that it’s almost impossible to make a diagnosis, let alone give advice for treatments without having physically examined the patient.

Crustacea are invertebrates, and currently, they have been put in the “too hard basket” for the purposes of animal welfare.
But there are cases where people have been prosecuted for cruelty to lobsters – https://thefishvet.com/2017/02/21/crimes-against-crustaceans-nicholas-seafood-convicted-of-cruelty-to-lobster/
The best way to despatch a live crustacean is to electrocute them. There is a recent product called Crustastun –
“NO need to boil or butcher alive; Reduces harmful bacteria; Fast, clean and efficient; NO need for prior chilling…”
See – http://crustastun.com/
But how would you do it in an ordinary domestic kitchen? One acceptable way is to cut them longitudinally to quickly destroy the major ganglia. But what if you don’t have the strength and skill to do this in one quick blow?
Here, we show you the chilling-prior-to-boiling method, which is currently acceptable practice –

Very interesting article.
Is it a drastic action?
Looks like an artificial lake and it is used as a swimming beach for families with young children.
It can be easily refilled.
So removal of a deadly venomous fish would be justifiable.

"Studies have shown that fish that are raised, motivated and intellectually stimulated are more successful when it comes to restocking programs.
There is mounting evidence that captive fish should be taught basic life skills before entering the wild.
Clever fish are raised in a hatchery with rocks, pebbles, and plastic plants, adornments that provide mental stimulation. Dumb fish are raised in a bare tank, the usual environment for billions of hatchery fish…
…fish born to wild parents and raised in enriched environments had better developed brains and had eaten more food of better quality…
…fish in the enriched tanks were less stressed and therefore less prone to disease…"

One person said the Moxfish seriously helped their "fish" with wisdom teeth pain.
Another said their "fish" had sleeping troubles and a sinus infection. But with some of the medication, they were feeling better quite soon.
Reviewers used the antibiotics when their "fish" came down with bronchitis, or had infected gums.
