There has been a recent flurry of interest in the product I use to treat fish skin ulcers. The problem with just applying betadine onto fish ulcers is that they wash off immediately when fish are replaced in the water.
TheFishVet’s Powder Gel is a unique way to ensure sustained application of antiseptics or antibiotics on fish wounds. Puffer bottles are available though TheFishVet’s Online Shop. It contains 10g of powder and retails at AU$56.95. There is no expiry date (I had one bottle that was just as good, after more than 7 years, and so it’s good to have on hand for emergencies).
You can treat many fish with ulcers provided you use it sparingly as shown in the video <>. Applying it too thick will result in the bandage floating off upon returning fish to the water.

Finding multiple fish species and including marron, it suggests an environmental/toxic cause is likely (instead of infectious). Let’s see what authorities find as the cause.
