Fish Vet Job available – University of Stirling – Named Veterinary Surgeon (60% FTE, Permanent)

Location & Structure

Based at Stirling Campus, part-time (60% FTE), open‑ended contract.

Primarily within the Institute of Aquaculture and supporting field stations at Buckieburn and on the Kintyre peninsula

Salary & Deadline

Grade 9: £57,422–£66,537 per annum (pro‑rata).

Core Responsibilities

Serve as the Named Veterinary Surgeon under ASPA, working with NACWOs, licence holders, academics, and senior management .

Oversee health and welfare monitoring strategies, clinical diagnosis, and treatment plans .

Support Home Office compliance by aiding the Establishment Licence Holder and attending regular meetings .

Advise on ethics applications and participate as a member of the University’s Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Body (AWERB) .

Keep management informed about aquatic animal facility developments and issues .

Collaborate with academic researchers and a specialised animal-care team .

Provide specialist training in clinical aquatic practice and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching .

Essential Qualifications & Experience

Veterinary degree with RCVS registration and Royal College membership .
