I received this from my colleague in the UK and it is very important that you help by taking action.
Below is a link to a petition posted by the Ornamental Aquatic Trade Association in the UK to help prevent a possible banning of the keeping of ornamental fish in the UK. Whilst the petition is aimed at UK politicians any ban is likely to be European and of course have global effects.
Without going in to too much detail there has been a very active campaign by animal rights/welfare groups to ban the keeping of “exotic” pets in Europe. This would mean that hobbyists could keep or purchase nothing more than goldfish and a couple of other species. Several european veterinary associations appear to have swallowed the campaigners line. I would urge all of you to sign the petition to save our hobby.
